The mission of Finance & Investment Group is to present dedicated finance students with career opportunities in the field of finance, to introduce them to professionals in the business community, and to increase their awareness of financial markets. We have stayed true to our mission for the past 15 years and grown into the largest student organization in the College of Business.

As of Fall 2009, the Collegiate Finance Organization and the Investment Society merged to become the UIC Finance and Investment Group.  With this new combination in place, the new executive board has established some new goals that the FIG plans to achieve in the upcoming semesters.  These new implementations are intended to benefit the student directly!

Much like the previous CFO meetings, Thursdays will continue to hold our corporate events.  Our speaker series features financial professionals from some of the most prestigious firms.  We serve our members by connecting them to the financial world through those networking and recruiting events.  They provide rare opportunities for students to get a glimpse on all areas of this exciting, dynamic world of finance.  

To now incorporate the Investment Society’s previous roles, we have added weekly Tuesday meetings that are lead by the Vice President of Investments.  These meetings will consist of a glimpse into investing and the markets.  These meetings are intended for students that are serious about investing; during a few weeks of the semester, members will closely watch, buy, and sell new stocks for our current real-money portfolio.
